RE-SIZING AN IMAGE TO SPECIFIC SIZE

Have you ever come across the situation where you need an image to be a specific size.  For example, Twitter requires that your profile pic be no larger than 700K.

How does one go about making an image that particular size.  Cropping down the image will only subtract so much.  Well, there is a pretty easy way to do it using Photoshop.

  • Open the image that you want to use
  • Click File > Save for Web and Devices
  • Click the little right arrow here

  • Select Optimize for File Size

  • Type in your desired file size

  • Click Ok
  • Click Save
  • Save file as you would any other file
  • Locate the file and right-click on it and choose Properties
  • You will now see that the files size is less than or equal to the size you desired.
